Breast
Lift
A breastlift, or mastopexy, is a plastic surgery procedure designed to elevate and
reshape sagging breasts. Factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and age contribute to the loss of shape and firmness
of the breasts.
The incision for a breastlift or mastopexy circumscribes the nipple and extends
downward and into the breast crease. The incisions become less noticeable with time and are not visible in a bra or
bathing suit.
If the breasts are small, insertion of breast implants is an option with the
breastlift procedure. It is best to have a mastopexy when no further pregnancies are anticipated.
